a Graduate!

Finally! After 16 years of formal education, I can now call myself a graduate. From n.u.s, no less. Hee my mum was telling me her dream has finally been realized - me graduating and then moving on to teaching.

8th July 2007 marked my convocation and it was a such a hectic day! I was on an adrenaline high after the ceremony, feeling all excited and smiling broadly in almost every photo tt I took. But once the rush was over, I was left feeling drained and tired. Dinner was with family and the boyfriend - nice Thai food, followed by some shopping and then driving the boyfriend home. In what word: bliss.

On the way to Convo, in dad's car [this looks like a candid shot, doesn't it!]

The most important people in my life - mummy, daddy and tt rascal of a brother. He looks like such a gangster here! No matter what, I still love them very much, even if I can't tell them to their faces. Without my parents, I wouldn't be who I am today... Daddy & Mummy, I just want to say,

"Thank you for everything. I love you."

The next most important person in my life - gwo chong, the boyfriend! Even though we've been together only for the past 7.5 months, he has let me experience what love is truly about, and I'm really thankful for his presence in my life (=

These two need no introduction - da-jie & er-jie. Another two persons in my life whom I wouldn't trade for anything. They've been there for me since like, forever, and forever is where they'll always be! Cheers to 10 years of friendship, and counting! Hee

My Elang girls - Von, Van & Andrea. Life in n.u.s. wouldn't be as fun and bitchy and gossipy without your presence [even if you say I'm the funniest, bitchiest and most gossipy one out of the 4 of us. hah!]

The Honours class for Elang! Am glad I stayed the extra 4th year and got to know some new friends, and some acquaintaces better.

The throwing of my mortar board - such a cliched move, but it's really something tt you can only do once in a lifetime, and I'm glad I had the chance to do so with my batch of classmates.

And with that, it marked the end of commencement for me. The words of the guest speaker, a Mr Shepardson, still rings in my mind. (okie, whatever I can remember of it then)

"This commencement marks the end of your journey in one phrase of your life, but it is only the beginning of the next."

And so I look forward to my new beginning - I'm full of optimism and hope for the upcoming future. Most importantly, I aim to stay true to myself and who I am, and live life to the fullest, for it is only the beginning of all beginnings. (=
