on air!
I was on air on Class 95 last night! [tues 22nd Feb]. It was on the program Love Songs, and there was this 'topic of discussion' abt online dating, and the dJ was asking people to call in to share their thoughts. So I was like..."hmm, should I try my luck?" and *ta-da* I got through to the phone lines! Actually while the phone was ringing I didn't really think anyone would pick up, so I was really surprised when the dJ Yasmine said 'hello?' :)
Basically just talked about how the Boyfriend and I got together [err, Yas asked me to elaborate] and what I thought about online dating. Hee. Actually when you call in and your call gets picked up, the conversation is recorded [means it wasn't played live] and later on they insert the clip in when the timing is appropriate. In fact while listening to myself talk over the radio, I realized that certain parts were omitted - some prompting by the dJ was taken out. Hmm, which makes me think about what we've learnt in Media Discourse and the manipulation of media clips in order to portray a certain 'image'. Heh, being too analytical.
I think I sound different on radio! Rather, I think we don't really know how our voices sound like unless we record our own voices and play it back. Well, in fact I didn't know the exact moment when my call-in clip came on cos I couldn't recognize my own voice over the radio! Hee. Made a dedication to the Boyfriend too! Yeah it was a good end to a great day~ =p
Met up with er-jie and we went shopping! Yupz and there were temptations aglore everywhere; calling out to me to put my card down and just buy buy buy! Luckily I had the thought of my bank acct balance very consciously in my head - so I only succumbed to 2 tees and a flower brooch a.k.a Carrie-style. Hee. Saw this pair of white pointed heels [covered-toe kind] and felt so unwilling to leave the shop without it..but *sigh* I guess I can do more shopping when I get my tuition paycheck this weekend.
The Boyfriend very nicely offered to come pick me and er-jie up after our late dinner, and I think it was very sweet for him to send er-jie home too; since he has 3 upcoming tests this sat and has been spending most of his time studying for them. That's why I must appreciate him, for all the small and big gestures -huggies-
