home sweet home

I'm back! Didn't want to leave there once I got down though. Hee. But I realized I really missed the Boyfriend and couldn't wait to hear his voice again, so I was a tad horrified when my brother suggested extending our stay. Hmm. I'm being contradictory. As I usually am. Again. Haha.

Bintan is so fun!! I know it sounds cliche, but I would really recommend you guys to go there - its perfect for a grp of friends, a couple, a family and even old people. Haha. Cos there are really a range of activities you can sign up for? Adventure stuff like trekking, a mangrove swamp tour [which is really more interesting than it sounds here], the beach! and of course, the wonderful service.

I'm never going to get used to the fact that no staff in Singapore will ever treat me as the staff over there. Perhaps it could be due to the fact tt I was staying in a 5-star resort hotel - its the Bintan Lagoon Resort; but the people there are really nice. And they come across as very sincere as well. That they really want to serve you well and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. As I was telling my dad when the ferry landed at Tanah Merah, no more people going "thank you, mdm" and smiling no matter what you do. = / S'pore should really take a leaf from their page on this aspect. Although everywhere else except the resort was filled with undeveloped land and trees and green stuff, it didn't matter to me tt I was in a place where modern amentities were scarce [except for the resort, of course]

Wish I had a digicam so you guys can look at the place! The hotel room was very impressive. Everything was laid out in a way tt all your needs were anticipated and fulfilled beforehand, and even needs tt you never thought you wld need. Like, a separate platform at the side of the room where they placed two thai-bed like things so tt you can simply sit there and read or watch tv without going on to bed. The layout of the room was too nice to be put in words. Rather, I can't seem to find words to describe fully what I want to say. Haha.

Just take it from me - everything spent there is worth it. And the Indonesian staff are so nice tt for the duration of the trip I forgot my innate racism and appreciated them. =) ok I sound mean. But tt just proves how good the staff are to you, right? Eups, don't really think you will enjoy having an internship there though - cos all of the staff are Indonesian. No chinese at all. Hee. Don't know about Banyan Tree but I suspect its the same.

Am sunburnt. It drizzled the first day but the sun came out on the second. The waves are cool~ you can be pushed on them ie you can surf your body on the waves! Had so much fun with my family!! And I think it made us all closer after this holiday. The only thing I didn't really enjoy were the ferry rides cos I got queasy. Yucks.

Oh. A guy tried to hit on me. I think. I don't know if he was being friendly or..[he's a staff there] but this was what happened: I was swimming in the pool with dad + bro and we decided to go to the bar counter in the pool [where there are seats in the pool facing the bar counter. so cool right?] to get drinks. My bro finished his Heinkein, I was blowing at my cuppacino and my bro and dad decided to swim towards my mum. I was left alone..and suddenly this guy behind the counter started talking to me. At first it was just friendly conversation, and then I asked him if the weather has been so drizzl-y the past few days. He said "yes, isn't it a good time to sleep?" and gave me this look and grin tt made me think he thinks it will be nice to sleep together. Ok, maybe I'm being paranoid and neurotic and a narcissist - but its a woman's intuition. I haven't told the Boyfriend - I think he'd laugh at me though. =/ oh well. Hee. Oh in case you were wondering..I went "oh" and ducked down even lower into the pool so he couldn't see me. Instinctive reaction what.

Everything there is in Singapore Dollars, and not quite cheap too. A pirated dvd costs S$15. A cuppacino and a Heinkein cost S$12. Due to the taxes..yupz. But still, everything was paid by daddy's credit card *evil smile*

I think I've been rambling on and on..but hey! I had fun~ shld go together with friends - da jie n er jie we shld head there next May! Quite affordable too lah. Hee.
