happie 23rd, boyfriend!

This is mostly gg to be a photo-entry; ever since I figured out how to upload pictures, I've realized tt pictures sometimes suffice in telling others a story, especially when you're lazy to blog. Hee.

First, the two main characters of the day! We have:

(i) The Boyfriend, who turned 23 on 06 May 2006; and gave his real age when the manager of MySecretGarden asked if he was turning 21. Hah!

(ii) The girlfriend, obviously. Need I say more? I'm glad, though, tt I made the unconscious choice of sitting facing the bar counter, wldn't have like to have my surprise spoilt! [but more abt tt later]

Caught MI:III in the afternoon, walked and shopped [with a minor incident in btw] and I got a MemoryLane "You're Special" bear for the Boyfriend as a small surprise. Highlight of the day was dinner at MySecretGarden, recommended by pple at KT forum!

MSG is this really nice restaurant tt's tucked away in a corner in Middle Rd, with great ambience and very romantic [if there are no grp gatherings ard] They have both an indoor and outdoor area, with one slightly more formal in nature and the other just an informal setting perfect for hanging out with your friends. Quite enjoyed ourselves there, but prices are a bit on the steep side - but considering tt its a restarant [unlike your usual hang-out cafes] its still affordable. I wld recommend it for special occasions, with your special someone! (=

Okie, this is what we had:

Cold appetiser:
Caesar Salad, with grilled chicken added.

This is a must-try if you do intend to visit MSG. It has crunchy Romaine lettuce; thin slices of turkey bacon; egg slices; crunchy croutons; cherry tomatoes - and do remember to add grilled chicken for the extra oomph!
They serve the salad with a slice of toast, with garlic cheese spread. Marks for presentation!
The dressing is fantastic as well. Very *yummy*
For someone who doesn't believe in ordering salads, this dish has me converted! (:



Beverage:
Iced Latte.

Nothing to boast abt, wld have tasted better if I hadn't added so much sugar syrup! But it looked quite pretty when it first came.


Main course:
Rib-Eye Steak.

The Boyfriend had this for his main course, and as I don't like the taste of beef, only had a few teeny bites. But I believe tt only beef-lovers will enjoy steak! [and I am not one of them, definitely.]



Main Course:
MYSG Club Sandwich. This was what I choose to have for my main course. Very pretty layout!
This was quite yummy as well - fillings consisted of cheese; turkey bacon; egg; chicken ham & tomato.
Serving was generous as well, with heaps of fries tt the Boyfriend and I cldn't even finish!

The highlight of the evening came towards the end, when this waitress brought out the above Sin In Love brownie + ice cream dessert dish, together with a candle and a Happy Birthday tag! This was my surprise to the Boyfriend, and had pre-arranged with MSG when doing reservations the day before. Yupz, they do such special requests! (: You shld have seen the look of surprise on the Boyfriend's face when he saw the cake! Its really hard to surprise the Boyfriend, but I succeeded! Hee

I had a hard time persuading him not to order any cakes for dessert, as he kept insisting tt he wanted to have cake. So I told him we have to be healthy and have salad instead. Hee. Even though the Boyfriend told me he sort of guessed tt I had a surprise planned, I don't believe him! But at least he got to hear me sing a Birthday song for him, and made a wish before blowing the candle out. *smiles*

I have more photos [of me, naturally!] but this entry has taken me longer than I expected, so I'd upload the rest another day.
